2026 UK Pearson Edexcel GCSE Chinese: Key Deadlines and Exam Schedule

If you are planning to take the 2026 Pearson Edexcel GCSE Chinese (1CN0) exam in the UK, the earliest exam dates are as follows (based on the official timetable, applicable to exam centres in the UK, excluding overseas iGCSE).

Event	Date	Description
Release of Basic Information	22 November 2026	Official start of registration (Registration is usually handled collectively by the school for day school candidates. Private candidates must contact an exam centre or Chinese school themselves).
Normal Registration Deadline	21 February 2026	Day school candidates: your school’s internal deadline is usually earlier (most schools close registration in December or January), so please ask your teacher as early as possible. Private candidates: you must complete registration before 21 February. It is recommended to contact an exam centre by the end of January at the latest.
Start of Late Registration	From 22 February 2026	Both types of candidates may register late, with an additional fee.
Final Deadline for High Late-registration Fee	22 April 2026	Final chance to register. Please arrange as early as possible.
Paper 2 Speaking Exam	March-April 2026	Day school candidates: the specific time is arranged by school teachers. Some schools require candidates to arrange their own speaking exam interlocutor. Private candidates: arrangements must be made by an exam centre that accepts private candidates. In most cases, candidates need to arrange their own speaking exam interlocutor.
Paper 1 Listening Exam	11 May 2026	Same time across the whole UK.
Paper 3 Reading Exam	11 May 2026	Same time across the whole UK.
Paper 4 Writing Exam	18 May 2026	Same time across the whole UK.

Note: Please contact your school or exam centre as early as possible to confirm. You must check with your school or Chinese school/exam centre for their internal registration deadlines because these dates are usually earlier than Pearson Edexcel’s official deadlines.
